| Unfortunate incidennce:- Smt S S Deshpande JE Electrical Amravati caught with unfortunate incidence while working near the Engine Alternator of newly proposed Moti Nagar RSU Amravati. While doing the AT of E/A , she is badly wounded by the fan of the E/A causing serious injuries in the stomach and chest. She has been immeditely admitted in the Yadgire Hospital Amravati and her condition seems to be critical. We pray GOD for her speedy recovery.. |

| Outsourcing of Misc activities:- The BSNL's management committee vide it's 33rd meeting dated 16.11.2009 in their review of company's half yearly revenue and expenditure , instructed all CGMs to outsource all mntce activities including mntce of GSM tower maintenace etc. They have also instructed not to engage DGR security personnel for the same as it is incurring heavy expenditure. |

| GB Meeting:- GB meeting of SNEA(I) Amravati was conducted on 27/11/2009 which was presided by Com A V Changole Dist president SNEA(I) Amravati. Meeting started with welcome of two comrades to SNEA Amravati Pariwar Com Ms M A Deshmukh SDE Genl and Com Dabrase JTO Dhamn Rly. Com S P Dhok DS Amravati highlighted on the current situation and issues resolved till date. Also Issues like contract labour , settlement of various leaves of executives and salary held up issues, unavailability of various BSNl's mobile recharge vouchers and other products in the market , settlement of all request transfers etc were discussed. It has also been decided to stop the procedure of enagaging contract labour w.e f feb' 2009 as this issue may boomrang on those who is engaging contract labour for dept work taking full risk on thier part etc. Com S R Kalmegh Jt Sec Vidarbha-II was present in the meeting . |

Meeting with Hon GMT Amravati:- Whole body of SNEA(I) Amravati met with Hon GMT Amravati Shri C P Samantji yesterday on 26/11/2009 to discuss the pending issues of executives in which Shri H R lanjewarji DGM OP Amravati , Shri Gujar DGM Finance and Shri V N Hade DE Admn was present. Meeting took place in the conference Hall in view of the General Body meeting of SNEA(I) Amravati scheduled today on 27/11/2009 . Following issues were discussed in the meeting. 1)Frequently referring medical leaves of executives of Amravati ssa to CS Amravati for the 2nd medical opinion including those of genuine one and non sanction of EL . Hon GMT instructed DE admn to settle all leave cases and give immedite sanction to EL. 2)Issue of Transfer of ladies to those places where ladies ammenities are not available - Hon GMT agreed to take care in future 3)Providing laptops to SDCA incharges- Admn approval is given and tender for computer will be finalised soon 4)Transfer allowance to Com V R Jadhav JTO BB- Association will fight at all level to get the most justified TA to Com V R Jadhav as admn have given refusal which is not at all justified. 5) Settlement of leave case of Com S H Gandhi and Com L M Vikhar- Hon GMT agreed to settle both cases.6)Giving Time bound promotion to those eligible on case basis and sending all the executives for training .eg. Com Ashfaq JTO cable Amravati and Com M L Khan JTO Achalpur to be sent for training. | Membership verification of Executives’ Associations in BSNL: SR cell of BSNL corporate office has issued letter to all General Secretaries of Executives associations forwarding recommendations of Committee constituted for framing rules & regulations governing conduct of membership verification of Executive employees associations in BSNL. It has been heard that the views / suggestions of the Executive Associations have been called for within 15 days. Thereafter one month period will be given to apply for participating in the membership verification process and thereafter again one month period will be given to the executives for giving their option in favour of one Executive Association and after the cutoff date based on the options and check off system, the membership of the Executive Association will be counted and majority Association will be declared. It is expected that this process will be completed before 15th Feb 2010 which will be also depend upon how long it will take for various associations to submit their views / suggestions. |

| Scheme and syllabus for LDCE from JTO (T) to SDE (T) notified. Consistent efforts of SNEA (India) resulted in this notification and change of scheme into OMR system even though some groups tried their best to stop the LDCE as last time. The examination will be on OMR evaluation basis. There will be two papers of 100 marks each with 3 hours duration. The minimum pass mark for each paper will be 50% for 'OC' and 45% for 'SC/ST'. DE cell will issue separate notification intimating the date and time.

Revised application of Com S L Balapure JTO Dham Rly have been sent to CGMT Office for change of posting from Beed to Yeotmal. Com S L Balapure has been relieved from Amravati SSA for Beed without considering his genuine medical problem at the stage when his services were badly needed at Dhamangaon Rly considering the amount of work , wide spread area and staff posted there. Presently Dham Rly SDCA is managed by only one SDE without any JTO since com Balapure was relieved. We are persuing his case for change of posting from Amravati to Yeotmal on medical ground.

1) BSNL bags Gold award in India Pride Awards 2009-10: Yesterday at New Delhi while presenting India Pride Awards 2009-10, Home Minister of India Hon’ble Shri P.Chidambaram speaking on that occasion reminded that Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the First prime Minister of India had called the Public sector units (PSUs) the temples of Modern India and he had been right “our PSUs are so strong that Global recession has had no impact on them”. Important news:- 1)DGM recruitment Examination deferred: Each and every employees in BSNL were demanding the absorption of ITS officers in BSNL and for well being of BSNL . Now it has been heard that associations and unions are pleading the BSNL Management to mount the pressure on DOT to finalise the absorption process. It has also come to know that Dir (HR) has pointed out to the JF leaders that the issue is in active consideration to the Govt. and BSNL Management is also making efforts to complete the process. But the issue is not very simple because despite the efforts of DOT, ITS officers have not exercised option for BSNL and recently against DGM recruitment, stay order is availed in Allahabad CAT and now BSNL Management has postponed the DGMs examination till further order. These are the odd effects of putting the issue of DGM recruitment directly in the law of court instead of fightiing battle on the ground by means of agitaion. Question remains why all of us have not demanded through agitational means our demand of making most of our executives eligible for DGM recruitment irrespective of their age and qualification? 2)No relaxation in marks for LDCE conducted in July-2007: BSNL corporate office has rejected all the representations and requests for allowing relaxation in marks of LDCE for TES Group-B conducted on 15th July-2007 giving reasons of dilution of Merit, not permissible under RR and hence not feasible |

IT czar Sam Pitroda, the chairman of the National Knowledge Commission , has been appointed as the adviser to PM Manmohan Singh on infrastructure, innovation and information. Pitroda (68), who will have the rank of a cabinet minister, will advise Singh on integrating information communication technology (ICT) in infrastructure, health, justice and information. “We’ll look at organising the integration of the national knowledge network and broadband connectivity for better service delivery to citizens,” Pitroda said. “We will also develop an action plan for the next decade which will be a decade for innovation and infrastructure.” Pitroda’s appointment is the second high-profile one made by the PM.
